BTBC Titans is a community dragon boat team based in Boston. We train to race and race to win — and we welcome paddlers of every level, from first stroke to festival podium.
A club, a crew, a community
Established in 2018, we are a nonprofit dragon boat club promoting the sport and its community in the greater Boston area. Twenty paddlers, one drummer, one steersperson — dragon boating is the ultimate team sport, and it rewards timing and grit over size and strength.
On the water we chase race pace. Off the water we run socials, volunteer locally, and grow the paddling community that makes it all possible.
Our legal name is Boston Taiwanese Boat Club, Inc., and it hasn't changed. We race as BTBC Titans because paddlers kept telling us they assumed "Taiwanese" meant the club was only for people of Taiwanese heritage, and so they never came to a practice — the opposite of what we are here to do.
BTBC keeps our initials. Titans makes it unmistakable that the boat is open to everyone in Boston. Same club, same roots, a name that invites the whole city in.

Water season
On-the-water practices in Boston several times a week, building up to festival races across New England and beyond. New paddlers are paired with experienced crew from day one.

No experience, no boat, no paddle required. Your first practices are free — just bring clothes you don't mind getting wet.

We provide the paddle and life vest, teach you the stroke, and put you on a bench with experienced paddlers.

Keep the boat moving
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we run on membership dues, donations, and sponsors. Contributions fund boats, paddles, race fees, and community programs — and are tax-deductible.
